The history of music, like human memory, can be selective. Some of the above names, whose owners, after all, did not live in distant times, clearly testify to this. Although at one time they enjoyed recognition, they eventually gave way to composers whose art proved to be more enduring. The program of the recital draws attention to several such forgotten characters. Felix Borowski's strongly contrasted, late-Romantic I Sonata in A minor evokes a Chicago artist with Polish roots. Thema mit Variationen, which impresses with its variability of moods, is the calling card of Ernst Köhler, who in the second quarter of the 19th century co-created the musical environment of Wrocław, serving as a counter in the Church of St. Elizabeth. On the other hand, the virtuoso Fantasia in F minor places its author Konstanty Gorski — a violinist from Vilnius — next to the masters of this measure, such as Nowowiejski and Surzyński.
