Mi-ok (Jeon Do-yeon) lives with her out-of-work husband Ho-seok (Sul Kyung-gu) and their young son, until a funeral brings them into the lives of documentary filmmaker Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong) and her affluent husband Sang-woo (Zo In-sung).
As Mi-ok agrees to be filmed for a documentary, an unexpected closeness with Ye-ji and an uneasy attraction to Sang-woo unsettle the lives of both couples.
In his first release in eight years, acclaimed director Lee Chang-dong turns his nuanced lens on desire and the search for freedom, which in his words, is 'a desire that may itself be a form of love'.
