About the event

Before the 7th Feminative begins, we invite you to a taste of it, i.e. a lecture by Dr. Karolina Rybicka in Branch No. 54 of MBP.

Some of the pre-war inhabitants of Lower Silesia entered the pages of history because of the various shameful acts they committed or were credited with committing them. A certain group of women were accused of being witches, practicing magic, participating in covenants and dealing with the devil. There were also those who were repeatedly said to have committed acts of cannibalism, even on members of their own family. Others took their lives using arsenic, but not all suffered a punishment commensurate with their crimes.

Dr. Karolina Rybicka — Doctor of Humanities in the discipline of History. Professionally associated with the National Museum in Wrocław. Her research interests focus on issues related to copper ore mining in Lower Silesia. In his free time, he visits the old people's fair, collects objects reminiscent of the times of the Niederschlesien and explores the Lower Silesian villages that the world has forgotten about. For several years he has been running “Archival Lower Silesia” profiles on Facebook and Instagram, where he talks about fascinating, intriguing and astonishing events from the past of the region. He thinks the only right cheesecake is the one without raisins.
