“The surrounding reality does not spare us the wealth of static or moving images. We live in an age of visual communication culture on the screens of a variety of devices. Promotion, advertising, visual message tries to interest, make something aware, arouse certain emotions, focus our attention or awaken the desire to possess.
Where a single image can supposedly replace a thousand words, the modern ease of generating it is increasingly conducive to this form of communication at different levels.
The author's photographs in the MAGNIFICATION in the idea cycle were created as a form of author's view of a specific object from the perspective of the micro world, an optically enlarged and naturally deformed image. The composition and juxtaposition of photographic images revealed to me mutually complementary layouts of photographs forming a formally coherent whole with a somewhat surreal expression.
In the creative process, the object of my observations became arranged micro-scenes, where the main role is played by the object in frontal view. I began to see the meaning of following this path with the aid of an optical instrument, like a voyeur through a keyhole, who seems to be unwittingly discovering some secret. I observed surprising compositions, light or expressiveness of changing forms and shapes. During this process, I realized that it is not so much the theme itself that is important as the way it is recorded and the associated sensations that create the final result.
Within this deliberately provoked focus and blur of images, a photographic story unfolds, which can be attributed to the words of the French painter and graphic artist Odilon Redon: although the necessary starting point is the reality seen, the real art is in the reality felt.
Perhaps it was curiosity in showing personal emotions and aesthetic sensations that became the pretext for creating the photographic cycle ENLARGEMENT, as an experimental laboratory of associations and subconscious symbols.”
