The meeting will be an opportunity to learn about the Baroque way of storytelling through painting on the example of Caravaggio's work.

The facade of the Roman church of St. Louis the King of France majestically presents an early and elegant Baroque. Inside, the situation becomes more dynamic until divine interventions take place in the Contarelli chapel. The three paintings of Caravaggio adorning this small interior, in a form that breaks the schematics of the time, present the dramatic story of Saint Matthew the Evangelist. We will look at a picture that, like a prologue, will introduce us to the story - both about Saint Matthew, and about the Baroque genius of painting.

As part of the next edition of Czas Sztuki, in addition to lectures, we propose workshops on reading paintings. This time we will look at the works of the most outstanding artists of world painting.

Classes “Time of Art — Interpretations” are devoted to the conscious perception of works of art and the interpretation of paintings. The program includes an analysis of the composition, symbolism, emotions recorded in the painting and the historical context, enabling a better understanding of the message contained in the works.
