The Making of Things Lab

Do you have an unfinished project at home: a painting, an embroidery, a sketchbook, a film to assemble, a sweater to sew, a photo album from a trip or a set of LEGO bricks that is still running out of time? Do your thing!

A do-it-yourself studio is a situation where we offer a quiet space to work on your own projects in the presence of other people. We provide tables, basic tools, access to selected materials and a friendly atmosphere conducive to focus and motivation. This is not a classic workshop - we create conditions for creative activity, using the power of joint presence and parallel work (body doubling).

Where: ms², Ogrodowa 19, common space and educational room, 1st floor

When: Meetings once a month, on Fridays, from 16:00 to 19:00

For whom: • adults and young people 15+, • creative people — both amateurs and professionals, • people who find it difficult to find the time or motivation to complete their projects, • neurodiverse people who are favored by working in the presence of others (body doubling), • people looking for a quiet, safe and benevolent space for creative work.

Course of classes: • Opening of the workshop, preparation of positions and brief presentation of the rules. • Individual work on your own projects with the possibility of free entry and exit. • Use of available materials and tools and exchange of knowledge and experience. • Breaks for coffee, tea and conversations. • Organizing the workplace.

Conducted by: Wiktoria Hładko - theatrologist, Russian musician, performer. A graduate of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw and a course in experimental choreography at Centrum w Ruchu. In her educational activities, she is most interested in the study of the performative dimension of life and art, word and description, products and garbage, corporeality and gaze.
