The title RIGHT TO CHOOSE belongs in our performance to the viewers. It is you who will decide the fate of the main character of the text by Ferdinand von Schirach — in this role Aleksander Machalic.

The outstanding German playwright has already earned the reputation of the literary “conscience” of mankind. The Polish premiere of his drama — popular in European theatres and television stations — is an opportunity to follow in full tension the hearings of the next experts before the Ethics Committee. Among others, they will be played by seven outstanding actresses: Maria Rybarczyk, Daniela Popławska, Małgorzata Łodej-Stachowiak, Bożena Borowska-Kropielnicka, Antonina Choroszy, Agnieszka Różańska and Marta Herman. Their arguments, ethical, medical, theological dilemmas will simultaneously become bargaining chips in the “choice” of the concepts of freedom, the right to life, humanity.

These terms will soon enter the Polish debate: dilemmas about euthanasia, interruption of palliative care, the right to a dignified death are also increasingly related to the social reality on the Vistula River. The RIGHT TO CHOOSE is ahead of this prediction and at the same time gives each of the viewers the opportunity to speak anonymously on these issues right now. So, what will you do with your voice?
