Premiere meeting around “Brazilian fever”, the latest book by Anna Fryczkowska.
When? October 14, 6:00 p.m.
Where? Dom w Aleje, branch of the Śródmieście Cultural Center (Aleje Jerozolimskie 2)
The conversation will be moderated by Urszula Kaczyńska, a journalist from Polish Radio.
“Brazilian Fever” is the story of Franka, a young girl who leaves the Polish countryside with her family and sets off for the ocean.
Brazil was supposed to be Franka's promised paradise. However, instead of fertile fields, a stuffy jungle, tropical diseases, exhausting work and constant anxiety await on the site.
Franka quickly becomes convinced that there is no place for illusions in the new world. Every day becomes a struggle for survival, and every night an attempt to tame the fear of what lurks in the dark.
“Brazilian fever” is a story of people forced to build their world from scratch, away from home, family and homeland. It is also a story about the power of the will to survive and fight for a better tomorrow.
