“Present tense” is a play about the search for belonging in the labyrinth of contemporary structures that reinforce the sense of isolation. It is a journey of a young body in a world of excess, overloaded with information and expectations, experiencing the polyphonicity of history and sounds. Inspired by Georgi Gospodinov's “Physics of Sorrow” and his Minotaur figure, the play addresses the theme of exclusion and difference: identity, orientation, neuroatypicality or sensitivity, which do not fit into the imposed templates, and which at the same time constitute an extremely important voice in the modern world. It is a route for sensitivity, authenticity and their care. The show creates a space for reflection on what closeness, mindfulness and tenderness can be in a reality dominated by competition, comparison and stimulation.

About the event

“Present tense” is created in a dialogue not only artistic, but also psychological — with the consultations of psychotherapist Karolina Burdalska, which opens the process to the perspective of sensitivity, authenticity and concern for the viewer's experience.
