USA, mid-2000s. Chris Hansen (Robert Pattinson) is the face of “To Catch A Predator,” the reality format that lures pedophiles into a trap with decoys and exposes them in front of cameras. What begins as a moral crusade becomes a power machine: The ambitious reporter, his producer Andie (Merritt Wever) and the young actor Dan (Skyler Gisondo) increase pressure — and success — to the point of obsession. While Hansen is increasingly haunted by demonic visions, the hunt for the ultimate “whale” — a prominent perpetrator — takes the team to conservative Texas. What happens there will change television forever.
