PRIMITIVE RING

Indie Rock, Psych, Rock

The Primitive Ring is ready to give rock'n'roll to the people when they consume the Flea on February 5, 2027!

PRIMITIVE RING consists of Bert Hoover (bass/vocals), Charles Moothart (guitar/vocals) and Jon Modaff (drums). The Los Angeles-based power trio was formed in September 2024 when Hoover and Moothart got together in search of a new creative expression. In 2025, the band released four 7″ singles on four different record labels (Greenway, In the Red, Reverberation Appreciation Society and Fuzz Club UK).

They lugged amplifiers and drums onto bars to hone the sound of the new brotherhood that is the Primitive Ring. Rock and roll is, in its essence, a primitive experience, and the name reflects just that. Three individuals clash, egos rattle, layers peel off, and new limbs emerge. Archetypes flicker to the rhythm of a freight train, and the crown is given from hand to hand as a bearer of good luck — symbolically and community-oriented.

Rock and roll is for the people, and the Primitive Ring is for the folk. The band's debut LP was released via In the Red Recordings on the 15th. MAY 2026 - get ready to hear it in raw format on February 5 at the Flea.
