What laws govern the language of politics? How does power, with the help of words, shape the picture of events, point out the culprits and affect collective memory? Why were the participants of the Radom June '76 called “barkhols” and what exactly did this word mean? The conversation with Prof. Jerzy Bralczyk will be led by Prof. Anna Spólna.
Prof. Jerzy Bralczyk — linguist, member of the Polish Language Council, lecturer at the Institute of Journalism of the University of Warsaw for years, known for popularizing knowledge about the correctness of public language, politics, advertising and law.
You will come out with a sharper ear to the language with which politics and memory of the past are described today — including that of Radom.
Entrance upon presentation of tickets — we have prepared 50 (100 seats) for residents. The first pot will be distributed during the Science Weekend (1-4.10), the rest will be available from 5.10 until sold out. To receive the ticket, send the application with your name and surname to the address kontakt@amfiteatr.radom.pl - after confirmation you will receive information on when it should be collected.
