“Ocean Project” — rave whales and other stories/Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra in Katowice

It is an interdisciplinary event combining music, image, narrative. We will create an aquarium shimmering with colors, filled with soft shapes of underwater creatures, and we will listen to sounds whose common denominator is existence in a non-human world. The musical layer will be composed of works by Crumb, Schubert and Saint-Saëns, the visualizations will be entrusted to the most talented graphic artists, and stories from different cultures will flow from the stage, giving a chance to read the underwater world in a new way.

We will also ask ourselves questions:

Does a 10-story skyscraper sing?

Can a whale be planked rather than spotted?

Can a contemporary piece resemble a storm at sea?

Does the aquarium glow?

Is the ocean a new or eternal complexity?

Do marine animals sometimes have the thought to “throw the ocean, sit under a tree and start earning money by singing”?

How many times will a whale's heart kill during a concert?
