Zdzisław Bieleń (born 1936) — historian, doctor of humanities, librarian; author and editor of many publications concerning the activities of public libraries of the Lublin region, problems of librarianship, but above all the January uprising in Lublin; in his achievements he has about 180 bibliographic items, including monographs, critical and professional publications; associated with the Hieronim Łopaciński Voivodship Public Library in Lublin, where for many years he served as deputy director for substantive affairs and editor of the trade magazine “Bibliotekarz Lubelski”; member of the Hieronim Łopaciński Public Library Society, the Lublin Society of Book Lovers; awarded, among others, the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polish Revival, the honorary badge Merited for Polish Culture and the Medal Merited to Culture Gloria Artis; for outstanding bibliophile activity and active work for the dissemination of books and literature, he was honored with the Order of the White Raven with Sunflower; winner of the Witold Hulewicz Award for the publication Winner from Żyrzyn: General Michał Heydenreich — Crow (1831—1886).
