IOC Olsztyn invites you to a literary event with Michał Książek — poet, reporter and ornithologist. On Sunday, October 25, we will go for a walk around birds, nests, migration and the north — the one recorded in landscape, literature and personal experience. We meet at 12:00 in the Central Park at the Museum of Modernity (ul. Knosały 3B).
Where does the north lead? Is it possible to find it only on a map, or also in bird walks, nature, language and memory? During the walk, we will try to look at the landscape around us as a story that can be read during the hike.
Michał Książek leads hippróże — walks combining observation of nature with a story, in which the road itself becomes a literary form. This time the hippos will have a particularly literary character. It will guide us on the trail of birds, nests and migrations, but also on the traces of the north — place, direction and experience.
Michał Książek — poet, reporter, cultural scientist, forest engineer and ornithologist. The author of books and volumes of poems: “Yakutsk. Dictionary of Place”, “Road 816”, “Bird Science”, “Northeast” and “Atlas of Holes and Gaps”. In her books and activities, she looks at places, landscapes and their non-human inhabitants.
