Before the premiere: Angelika Wójcik

In an intimate space devoid of metropolitan bustle, real phenomena are born. The next installment of the series “Before the premiere”, the star of which will be Angelika Wójcik, is a must for everyone who is looking for non-obvious, cultural impressions. Come and listen to the artist in a unique atmosphere before it gets loud about her.

The new face in the series “Before the premiere” is an actress and singer with a special sensitivity. She perfectly knows how to magnetize the audience. Her career path to date is impressive; she has been honed in such renowned and extremely expressive stages as the Capitol Music Theatre and the Goat Song Theatre, famous for its unique approach to sound. In parallel, she regularly appears in popular television productions, which only confirms her versatility.

In a world where art is sometimes recombined, Angelika Wójcik places on one, the most important foundation — the absolute sincerity of the message. Music accompanies her every step of the way, and her concert in Wrocław will be an intimate invitation to discover together the sounds in which the artist puts her whole heart.

The series “Before the premiere” acts as a quiet music laboratory. It is a platform created for singers, composers and authors who already have their first successes, awards at festivals or workshops, and now need space to spread their wings. The idea is simple: to give young, talented artists the chance to transform short, festival forms into a full-length, hour-long recital.

In Wrocław, it is difficult to find a second such place, where the artistic debut sounds so mature and professional. The spectators gathered at Firlej are not just passive listeners — they become eyewitnesses of the diamond grinding, participating in a process that usually takes place behind the closed doors of rehearsal rooms.

What can we expect from the repertoire side? A real, multi-colored feast is being prepared for music lovers and lovers of musical theater. During the concert we will hear selected, world hits from such masterpieces of the genre as “Hamilton”, “Hadestown” or “The Color Purple”. Interestingly, in addition to Broadway classics, Angelika Wójcik will also present the canon of Polish artistic song. However, the songs known to all will gain a completely new, original and fresh sound, filtered by the unique sensitivity of the singer.

A great credit to Bogusław Sobczuk himself, the host of the series, who has been watching over every concert “Before the premiere” for years. Sobchuk, as an outstanding connoisseur of the genre, together with the artists draws up the script and perfects the dramaturgy of the evening. As a result, each performance acquires a unique, deeply personal character and becomes a complete, closed story. Come to Firlej for a concert, relax in our doorsteps and listen to great music being born in front of you.
