An Afternoon with a Book | Akademia Seniora

Do you like books and wonder how they are made? What happens to the text before it goes to the bookstore or library? What does the path of the book look like from the author's idea to the hands of the reader?

During the October meeting of the Senior Academy we will talk about the backstage of the creation of books, the publishing process and the work of libraries. We will also review interesting publications representing different literary genres and together we will discover how many forms a modern book can take.

In the second part of the meeting we will invite participants to blackout poetry workshops. Using the pages of old books, we will create our own unique poems, finding hidden meanings in already existing texts. This is a creative play with the word that does not require any literary experience.

The meeting will be led by Weronika Kociołek — Polish philologist, currently a specialist in cultural education at the Nowy Pafawag Cultural Centre.

We invite all lovers of books, reading and creative experiments with the word. 📚✒️
