About the event

The review of the latest dramaturgy is a two-day event dedicated to lovers and lovers of contemporary writing for the theater thirsty for creative risk and experiment.

On 15 October there will be performative readings of two plays selected from the 10 texts completed during the playwriting workshop “Here and Now. Freedom and security” under the supervision of Agnieszka Jakimiak, Jolanta Janiczak, Paweł Demirski and Agata Dąbek, curator of the project.

Performative reading of the play “FARMAKON” by Sonia Pohl | director: Julia Nowak

cast: Aldona Grochal, Małgorzata Walenda, Bolesław Brzozowski, Łukasz Stawarczyk

At Sonia Pohl's Pharmacon, everyday ordinariness breaks like a thin shell: a family of four sits down to play a game that was supposed to be fun, though it turns out to be a test of resilience to a world that continues in constant flux. Each character chooses their Fighter — tradition, science, faith, work, ecology — as if you could choose a way to survive with one click. But the game only reveals what is already trembling in them: fear, anger, fatigue, the need for control. Reality begins to resemble a board where health points fall faster than prices rise, and each move costs more than anyone wants to admit.

Performative reading of the play “TRANSPARENT RELATIONS” by Barbara Frencer | director: Karolina Kowalczyk

cast: Paulina Kondrak, Mikołaj Kubacki, Przemysław Przezelski, Jakub Olędzki (AST)

In Barbara Frencer's “Transparent Relationships,” the corporation acts as a system that first promises growth and then slowly takes control of life. The main character, Clara, finds herself in a world where any task can be challenged. Managers talk about support, but their words increasingly sound like instructions, and the care shown - resembles supervision. Boundaries are shifting imperceptibly: from questions to demands, from conversations to imposed pressure. What is left of a man when the company decides for him who he is allowed to be?

The review of the latest dramaturgy is organized in cooperation with the Academy of Theatre Arts in Cracow
