One day Gregor Samsa turned into a worm and could not go to work. Unfortunately, the joy of a lazy morning disturbed his sense of professional duty. The director transferred the story of Kafkowski's hero to the grotesquely portrayed world of modern corporations. Working in it, Samsa supports the whole family, whose life is filled with barren conversations and empty daily rituals. The transformation of the hero disrupts the existing order of the house, forces changes in each of the heroes. Comic scenes turn into tragic, and horror emerges from under the farce.

About the event

One day Gregor Samsa turned into a worm and could not go to work. Unfortunately, the joy of a lazy morning disturbed his sense of professional duty. The director transferred the story of Kafkowski's hero to the grotesquely portrayed world of modern corporations. The program of the show is here.

On 24, 29 and 31 March and 1 April, Maciej Kowalczyk will replace Przemysław Kozłowski.

From reviews:

Prepared in a farcical convention, the spectacle is lined with a real human drama and a serious reflection on some nearer undefined end, the disintegration of a well-known reality. Helpless heroes thrown out of their comfort zones and safe roles must deal with a change that no one asked for and no one needed.” (Katarzyna Mikołajewska, Gazeta Wyborcza Wroclaw).

“This spectacle amused me to tears, which was at least as surprising to me as Gregor's awakening in an insect body. Kmiecik's play is hilarious from the first scenes, when we don't even see Gregor yet. Kafkaesque dialogues work brilliantly here, but also the silence between them, applause for using silence as a medium.” (Jan Dabrowski, blog Cronenbergalia).

Warnings:

The show contains a scene of a sexual nature.
