Conference devoted to the industrial, technological and economic foundations of security in Poland and Europe.

About the event

Industry for Defence

Conference devoted to the industrial, technological and economic foundations of security in Poland and Europe.

The development of national production capacities, local contention, dual-use technologies, investment financing and cooperation between industries will be discussed by representatives of industry, military, administration, finance and the world of science.

Europe is increasing spending on security and defence at a record pace, but budgets alone are not enough to build resilience. The success of strategic programmes increasingly depends on access to technology, capacity, industrial competence, investment financing and the resilience of supply chains. It is from an economic and industrial perspective that the participants of the conference will look at the challenges in the field of security.

The Five Pillars of Industry and Safety

One of the key topics of the conference “Industry for Defense” will be local content, i.e. the question of the extent to which strategic defense programs can strengthen the national industrial base. In conditions of growing demand for equipment and armament, not only end manufacturers, but also a network of domestic subsuppliers, access to components and the ability to quickly increase production are gaining importance.

An equally important challenge will be generation capacity and technology. Modern armed conflicts show that the advantage is given not only by the advancement of individual systems, but also by the ability to mass produce them, replenish stocks and quickly respond to changing needs.

A special place will also be given to the dual use economy. Dual-use technologies and products can make it possible to more fully exploit the potential of civilian companies — from machinery and electronics to new technologies — for security purposes. This is an opportunity both to increase the resilience of the economy and to develop new markets for Polish companies.

An important element of the debate will be capital for security. The development of the defense industry requires not only procurement, but also long-term investments in factories, machinery, research and development, technology and personnel. In this context, the question of how to finance the scaling up of production and how to create conditions in which defence spending will simultaneously build long-term economic competitiveness becomes crucial.

An integral part of the event will also be TOOLEX and ExpoWelding and the New Industry Forum.
