The legendary novel by Mikhail Bulgakov “Dog's Heart” is a brilliant, sharp satire on the era and nature of man. Written in 1925, it remained banned for more than 60 years and circulated only in samizdat. Huge popularity was brought to her by the famous film adaptation with Yevgeny Yevstigneev in the lead role, and today the work still remains one of the most relevant and moving works of the 20th century.
The action takes place during the period of the construction of socialism - a time of chaos, scarcity and “ruin in the heads”. Professor Filip Filipovich Preobrazhensky conducts a bold scientific experiment: after a pituitary transplant, the homeless dog Sharik turns into a man. The sensational discovery brings the professor notoriety, however, it quickly turns out that creating a “high psychic personality” is much more difficult than changing the biological nature.
The story of Sharik, who becomes Polygraph Polygrapher Sharikov, is a poignant tragicomedy about the limits of science, the responsibility of the creator and human morality. The show masterfully captures the irony, humor and drama of Bulgakov's satire.
The role of Professor Preobrazhensky will be played by Igor Chalizov - a theater actor and film director, known, among others, for the films “The Return of Mukhar”, “On Different Shores”, “Dissident”, as well as for the role of Woland in the play “The Master and Margarita”.
We invite you to a unique theatrical evening — full of emotion, irony and timeless reflection on human nature.
