Alcoholic, petty criminal Willie (Billy Bob Thornton in top form) works as Santa Claus in various malls alongside his sidekick Marcus — dressed as an elf, what else? The anything but kind-hearted Santa and his snot-dumb partner plan a heist in which they will steal the shops' turnover on Christmas Eve itself. But then Willie meets a strange and good-natured boy who awakens a kind of compassion in him, while a security guard begins to suspect the whole miser. Along the way, the optrines with the cunning duo queue up so that both toes and fingers curl up.
