We invite you to a meeting around the book “Psychology of Grief” by Richard Gross, published by the University of Łódź Publishing House. It will be held at the Liberty Library.
The conversation will be dedicated to the experience of loss and grief and how we can accompany people who are facing the death of a loved one.We will talk about what grief is, how it can proceed and how it affects our daily functioning. We will also consider how to talk about loss, how to support those who are grieving, and how to respond when we face the experience of death ourselves.
The meeting will be an opportunity to talk about bereavement without simplifications or ready-made prescriptions—taking into account that each loss and each mourning may look different.
The conversation will be attended by:
Prof. Dorota Merecz-Kot — psychologist and professor at the University of Lodz, president of the Polish Society for Traumatic Stress Research. It explores, among other things, how stress and difficult, traumatic events affect our health and daily lives. He combines his scientific work with therapeutic and training work
Conducted by: Marta Szymczyk — school teacher, ethics teacher, educational activist. She maintains the profile “Out-of-the-box pedagogue”, where she shares her knowledge about upbringing, anti-discrimination education and working with children and young people.
