Repair shop

We continue last year's meetings with a loose workshop form, because you have shown us that you are willing to fix things instead of throwing them away. In our studio, second-hand pearls acquired a new shine, we revived your family souvenirs, as well as worn, everyday objects.

When? On the last Thursday of the month, in the museum's Prarzemka Craft Workshop, we open a local service facility for four hours. We operate from February to November with a break for the holiday months.

For what? We operate in reference to the tradition of saddlery workshops, which provided repairs in our district. Unfortunately, most of them have been closed, which means that residents are deprived of the opportunity to repair broken backpacks, leashes or belts or have to go to other neighborhoods with repairs. We are also inspired by repair cafes, i.e. grassroots initiatives related to various kinds of repairs.

What can you do? Bring a broken or damaged piece of bagel and together we will figure out how to save it. These will be workshops for repairing bags, backpacks, cosmetic bags, wallets and other products made of leather or leather-like materials. Here you will punch an extra hole in the belt, hammer in rivets or a snap, and maybe even manage to sew a new zipper into the kidney or pencil case. Repair will be done by yourself after receiving instructions, necessary tools and materials. In the case of more complicated operations, our master Renata Dmowska will take care of the repairs.

Attention! Do not bring shoes and clothes to us, these repairs are handled by other craftsmen, shoemakers and seamstresses.

How do I sign up? Tickets (10 zł) available one week before the event. The ticket is valid for one hour of classes, e.g. from 14.00 to 15.00, from 15.00 to 16.00, etc.
