Premiere of the performance of the independent theater GAS

It is a performance about the experience of emigration and displacement, which the Ukrainian independent theater GAS tells about, referring to the history of Ukraine and Poland.

In the performance, the documentary perspective is combined with the absurd and the grotesque, physical performance and sound experiment. The independent GAS theatre emphasises authenticity of expression, the collective creative process (devised theatre) and intercultural dialogue.

The script of the play consisted of fragments of Tetiana Shelepko's drama “The Point of Obesity”, interviews with people with experience of forced emigration, including internal, as well as personal reflections and statements of the actresses.

The show is an attempt to look at the phenomenon of migration through different historical perspectives, defined by the experiences of Polish emigration abroad, Ukrainian labor emigration across the ocean in the 20th century, as well as the history of the contemporary Ukrainian diaspora after 2014 and 2022.

The “Point of View” will be a view of immigration and relocation, which will be performed by the Ukrainian non-state theater GAS, focusing on the affairs of Ukraine and Poland.

In this way, the documentary perspective is combined with absurdity and grotesque, physical performance and musical experimentation. The non-Jewish theater GAS places emphasis on the authenticity of love, the collective creative process (devised theater) and the cultural dialogue.

The basic script of the text consisted of fragments of Tetyana Shelepko's book “Point of Excursion”, an interview with people who may have experienced the influence of adolescence, the cream of the interior, and this is the nature of the words Loving actor.

It is an attempt to look at the appearance of the reflection of the historical optics, formed according to the Polish emigration for the cordon, the illusions of the Ukrainian labor emigration to the ocean in the twentieth century, and This event will take place in the Ukrainian diaspora from 2014 to 2022.
