About the event

Brass instruments associated with specific tasks in a symphony or brass orchestra also play an important role in chamber music. What can four trombonists do? This can be seen by listening to the TrombQuartet quartet. In the program we will find works written by Polish composers especially for this rather exotic quartet. He was a virtuoso of his instrument, which inspired composers to write music for both trombone and trombone quartet. This original repertoire will be complemented by transcriptions of compositions by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and Feliks Nowowiejski and film music by Wojciech Kilar. The author of these studies is the composer Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, who undertook the difficult task of transferring well-known works to a completely different sonic world. It is worth seeing how the menacing theme of the Vampire Hunters from the movie Dracula or the famous waltz from Leprosy played on four trombones sounds.

Concert co-organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance as part of the program “Stage of Polish Music”, financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage
