The Quatuor Ébène sets standards with its Beethoven interpretations: thanks to its rhythmic precision, playful energy and its impressive range of expressions. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death, our Quartet series is entirely reserved for the ensemble this season. The opening of the series features the first string quartet from early Opus 18, with which Beethoven already showed all his compositional originality, as well as two works from the middle creative phase: the vocal Opus 74 — called the “Harp Quartet” in the first movement — and the exciting string quartet in C major, composed for Prince Rasumowsky.
