Radie Peat performs music from her forthcoming solo album No Human Tongue Can Tell. With unique vision, staggering vocal range and a wry sense of knowing, she distils the essence of folk music into her songs & performances.
Peat’s trajectory as a multi-instrumentalist and singer began when she took up the concertina at a young age, playing and singing alongside her sisters at traditional Irish music sessions. During formative teenage years, she became great friends with Cormac Mac Diarmada. The two would later join with Ian and Daragh Lynch to form music group Lankum, a cornerstone of contemporary Irish folk music. More recently Peat formed ØXN alongside Katie Kim, Eleanor Myler, and John ‘Spud’ Murphy to create a doom folk supergroup characterised by pensive lamentations from the darker side of the Irish storytelling & song tradition.
