Get to know the City Hall in Rzeszów!

In 2026, we are introducing a permanent offer to visit the Town Hall, a building located in the heart of the Market Square. It is an object with a rich and fascinating history. Guided tours will take place once a month, on a chosen Sunday, and will allow you to discover not only the architecture, but also the extraordinary history of the place.

Each historical object is a story - a material record of aspirations, needs and expectations important for a given community. The town hall received its current architectural form at the beginning of the 20th century, i.e. at the time of the still current search for a national style, which at the time of the partitions was supposed to be a visible sign of preserving its own cultural distinctiveness and a source of national strength in anticipation of the desired Independence. All this is enshrined in the picturesque architecture of the headquarters of the Rzeszów Magistrate. During the Sunday tour, we will find out what meanings the style costume of the Town Hall hides in itself, we will point out the elements of the original decor and equipment preserved inside, we will learn about the history of interior transformations, and then the restoration works aimed at restoring the building to its former splendor. We will also discover historical layering and get to know the patrons of contemporary works of art decorating today's interiors. In addition, we present the diversity of the former functions of the building and show how the individual stories of the inhabitants intertwine with the history of the Rzeszów Town Hall. For the brave, a magnificent panorama of the Market Square and the old town complex of Rzeszów with rooms inaccessible on a daily basis will also open. We cordially invite you to this unique monument, which as a symbol of a small Motherland should be a strong reference point for the local identity of the people of Rzeszów and not only.
