Christopher Wheeldon's Alice in Wonderland made a glittering debut in 2011 with fireworks of colors, stage magic and an imaginative and sophisticated choreography. Joby Talbot's score combines contemporary soundscapes with melodies that point to the great ballet scores of the 19th century. Bob Crowley's imaginative and fascinating production makes a big impact, from puppets to projections, to make Wonderland wonderfully real. As a result, the Royal Ballet is at its best and combines world-class dance with enchanting family entertainment — a true celebration of music and staging.
