Reel Rock 20

Reel Rock is a series of award-winning climbing films that combine action, humor, heart and soul into incredible, human stories for a wide audience, from committed climbing professionals to amateurs. The series was launched in 2005 by filmmakers Josh Lowell and Peter Mortimer.

This year Reel Rock celebrates its 20th birthday!

On this occasion, the world's largest climbing film festival, just one month after its world premiere on October 22 in Boulder, Colorado, hits cinemas in Poland with an exciting program. We will see 4 titles in it:

JANJA GARNBRET Olympic champion on the legendary road “Bibliographie”

Janja Garnbret no longer has to prove anything on the panel — she has two Olympic gold medals and more World Cup victories than any other active athlete. So he heads to Céüse in the south of France to face the Bibliographie — one of the most difficult climbing routes in the world. However, when a holiday project becomes an exhausting, multi-year odyssey, a climber accustomed to victories must confront his weaknesses.

COLIN HALEY solo in winter on Cerro Torre in Patagonia

Colin Haley is one of the great mountaineers of his generation. From the age of twelve, he has been fascinated by Cerro Torre - a granite spire in the Los Glaciares National Park in Patagonia, with walls over 1500 meters high. When attempting the first ever winter solo climb of Cerro Torre, Colin sets himself a big challenge. There is no room for error here, and the footage from the climb is breathtaking.

MICHAELA KIERSCH fights for the 5.15 pass with the rope and for the boulder V15

The film follows Michaela Kiersch's series of climbing successes, paying tribute to the strength and beauty of rock climbing. We follow Michaela from the iconic Swiss boulders, through the first crossings in Vermont and Morocco, to the extreme roads in Austria. Michaela triumphs everywhere and becomes the first woman to overcome the boulder V15 and lead the roads with a rope valued at 5.15.

BEN MAYFORTH parawclip faces difficulties 5.13

Ben Mayforth was supposed not to walk, let alone talk about climbing. He was born with several birth defects, including spina bifida, so during his childhood he underwent a series of major surgeries and painful convalescents. He came out of them with limited strength and feeling in the lower half of his body, and at the same time with a strong will to fight. When he first tried climbing, he immediately realized that it was his sport and devoted his life to it. Now Ben intends to make para-clip history by attacking the 5.13 Traction Road, which will force him to exceed his physical limitations.
