Fancy trying Burlesque? Worried about accessibility? Here’s your chance to have a play with us!
Nothing is perfect. It never will be, but when we have the spoons, we can give it a try, add a little bit of sparkle and have some fun.
With award winning disabled Burlesque performer Arabella Twist at the helm, she hopes to start a real conversation about disability and accessibility in Burlesque and Cabaret. You will be led in an accessible Burlesque workshop to create your own specialised routine, working with your requirements. There will be a closed mini performance for participants, so you will have the opportunity to fabulously show us what you’ve got! Then after a break, a roundtable discussion and Q&A with disabled performers and performer-academics about the good, the bad and the sparkly accessibility aids of Burlesque and Cabaret.
This is only the beginning… what will be our final reveal?!
(No nudity. 18+ event for disabled, and non-disabled, people.)
