Risa is an extremely independent 10-year-old who lives with her mother (Latin American music star, Cazzu) in a small town on the edge of the world. Where everything ends and something else begins. The girl discovers that a closed telephone booth allows her to talk to the dead. Each interlocutor has his own story, an unfinished business in the world of the living. Risa helps the deceased fulfill their requests, and in return she expects only one thing - a conversation with her own father. Her helpers are a slightly depressed neighbor (Diego Peretti) and a hamster.
A film full of small, tender gestures, embellished with magical realism and with the music of the Argentine rock band Babasónico in the background. “Risa and the Phone Booth” won the award for best film and best director at the Argentine festival in Mar del Plata, where it was received with a standing ovation.
