Robert Zydel: a tour of the exhibition Romance au chocolat

Robert Zydel — director of the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory Museum — will take us to the cocoa-filled dreamland.

In the showcases at the exhibition Romance au chocolat by Mirelli von Chrupek, five installments are presented — peculiar genre scenes belonging to the same sweet universe. Although each of them tells a separate story, the theme that unites them is chocolate under different characters. Sometimes it is a basic component of the landscape, at other times it is a key element, appearing as a priceless artifact or even an anthropomorphized heroine.

All of the artist's works were designed for the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory museum. Temporary exhibitions, organized by the institution, are a tribute to the tradition of the brand, which since the beginning of the 20th century invited artists to co-create its image.

Robert Zydel — Polish ethnographer, market researcher, advertising worker. Director of the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory Museum in Warsaw since 2023. In the years 2021-2023 director of the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw. Originator of the Vistula Ethnographic Expedition. One of the precursors of the use of ethnographic techniques in marketing research. He specialized in the study of youth lifestyles, as well as the evaluation of mass events. He taught classes in market research.

The exhibition is co-organized by the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory Museum.
