LET'S DO OUR THING! | Młynarski's songs

Wojciech Młynarski — an author who was able to turn everyday life into sung poetry.

He didn't write songs for a while. He wrote them for... life. That is why, years later, they are still funny, touching and - most surprisingly - they continue to accurately describe the world. The scenery changes, the heroes change, and his words do not lose their sharpness.

We invite you to a concert dedicated to the work of one of the most outstanding authors of the Polish song. We will hear songs that have been accompanying the next generations of listeners for years — “Still in the Green Grams”, “Fly Your Marynara”, “We Are on Holidays”, “Absolutely”, “Let's Do Our Own”, “Be My Inspiration” — as well as less obvious musical gems and brilliant satirical lyrics. Because Młynarski didn't just write songs. He created stories about us — with humor, irony, tenderness and extraordinary insight.

You will be taken on this musical journey by Mateusz Deskiewicz — soloist of the Music Theatre in Gdynia. It will be accompanied by a jazz quartet under the direction of Ignacy Wiśniewski, who has prepared new, fresh arrangements of these well-known pieces. Director Tomasz Czarnecki watched over the artistic form of the concert.

It will be an evening full of intelligent humor, subtle nostalgia and songs that lose none of their strength over the years. Because although the world is constantly changing, Młynarski still speaks about it with astonishing accuracy.
