The Italian-American amateur boxer Rocky Balboa lives in the poor district of Philadelphia, where he keeps his head above water with low-paid jobs. When he unexpectedly receives the offer to fight the reigning heavyweight world champion Apollo Creed in a PR-effective title fight, Rocky senses the opportunity of a lifetime. With iron discipline and unwavering will, he sets out to train to show himself and the world what he is capable of.

With ROCKY, author and leading actor Sylvester Stallone made his breakthrough in Hollywood. The underdog story, realized on a low budget, became the most successful film of 1976 in the USA and won a total of three Oscars® (Best Film, Best Director and Best Editing) the following year. Rocky Balboa is still considered one of the most influential figures in film history.
