If you are parents who dream of getting out of the rut of household chores, we encourage you to take advantage of our initiative! We invite parents with young children to a meeting, during which we will show you around the current exhibition of Sonia Rammer. Children in strollers, scarves and stretchers can and should be taken with you!
No prior registration is required, just come a while before the start. The exhibition at GaMa takes place in the hall on the ground floor and in the underground part of the gallery. The building has a lift, a commode with changing table and a quiet room. You can use the trolley to enter the centre of the gallery. We recommend entering from the Quadro arcade side.
An Animal Lives in My Belly is an exhibition that brings together key themes in Sonia Rammer's artistic practice: animal studies, ecocriticism and posthumanism. In their context, we can transcend the boundaries of “civilized man” and understand that being human is first and foremost being in relationship with the unknown, the other, and with the earth as such. The artist “liberates” her individual fragments from the common, post-colonial narratives, giving them over to completely new stories. Formally, they consist of a compilation of video installations (video performance), sculptural objects and paintings.
In My Belly Lives an Animal consists of new iterations of the works Bone (2005-2026), I Would Rather Be a Yeti (2020), About a Woman Who Thought She Was a Dog (2023/2024), Atacama (2025) and the Mine Project (2025/2026), which is dedicated to an exhibition in the GaMa space.
