Ray & Michael Cooney KERWOOD FAMILY farce in two acts
A show for viewers over 14 years old.
Spring morning (and soon after), two-story house (rented), sympathetic Tom (in his thirties), quick-witted Linda (also). An important day ahead of them, a slight stress is in the air, but they are in this together and they love each other very much - what could go wrong? With the Cooneys, of course, everything, especially when one of the Kerwood brothers happens to drop off the keys to the van and the other to do a favor to loved ones.
Where a normal person says, “No, no exaggeration, until it's not so bad,” the master of farce will throw, “Watch and learn,” and pour a handful of nonsense right in the face. The viewer barely breaks free, and here he is covered by an avalanche of abstract gags, and it is not quite clear whether to laugh or cry.
Nobody writes dialogues like this today, does not turn up the pace, does not turn the cat with its tail like Messrs. Ray and Michael Cooney. “The Kerwood Family” is one big creative frenzy — bathed in vapors of absurdity, with action that scares the eye in the blink of an eye, with a superintelligent text and a wide field for acting shows.
And the moral of the story? Well, one rabbi will say: “What will the shell soak in when young...”, another rabbi will say: “With the family, it is best in the picture.”
