About the event

A series of creative workshops with IOM — the International Organization for Migration, is an invitation to discover together the exhibitions presented in Bunkier Sztuki Gallery of Contemporary Art and learn about the various languages of artistic expression. Participants will be inspired by the works of female artists, experiment with techniques and materials and create their own works in the spirit of freedom, intuition and creative courage.

The workshop will begin with a joint tour of the exhibition “Rżar mi Tropikuw” and a look at the work of Kinga Nowak, whose painting is distinguished by intense colors, expressive contrasts and geometric forms. We will consider how the artist builds her compositions and how with the help of color, shape and rhythm you can create multidimensional images.

Inspired by the visual language of Kinga Nowak and selected themes and solutions characteristic of African art, the participants will design their own comics. They will use contrasting color combinations, geometric shapes and simplified forms, creating short stories and experimenting with the possibilities of a vivid, colorful image.

The events are aimed at migrants living in Krakow and local residents who speak Polish.
