An extinguishing star (Marion Cotillard) goes to Rome to shoot her perhaps last film, and Rome turns out to be a city on the verge of daydreaming. In the world of “Roma Elastica”, the latest film by French visionary Bertrand Mandico, everything is possible and at the same time nothing can be certain. This is what Federico Fellini's film might have looked like if the Italian champion was a vampire riding a motorcycle and smoking one cigarette after another. Sequins, latex and monumental architecture have never looked so good together. In “Roma Elastica,” the boundary between reality and cinema turns out to be as fragile as celluloid tape sliding through a faulty projector. Tales of the giants of cinema are intertwined here with anecdotes about excrement hidden in a woman's purse.
