On November 19, we're going on a hoverboard ride when Berlin trio Roomer and Copenhagen-based Yvonnes take on The Flea in a coheadliner show featuring distorted shoegaze, dream pop, sonic experiments and dusty 90s nostalgia - all in a razor-sharp balance between the intimate and the grand.
ROOMER
Berlin trio Roomer weaves noise, catchy melodies and dusty memories into grand, guitar-driven songs. The trio consists of friends and collaborators Ronja Schößler, Ludwig Wandinger, and Luka Aron, each bringing their unique touch to the group with inspiration from Europe's avant-garde, folk and electronic scenes. Together they create a sonic universe that moves between shoegaze's intricate walls of sound, diary-like songwriting and sound art. The music moves between opposites: clarity and confusion, structure and impulsiveness, intimacy and collapse.
Their debut album 'Leaving It All to Chance' released in 2025 via Squama presented the trio's unique sound, blending direct and honest songwriting with shifting sonic textures and thick layers of distortion — and with their second album 'Staircase Made Of Rope', set for release on 18 September 2026, the trio further expands this sonic universe.
Created on a foundation of improvisation and “first takes”, 'Staircase Made Of Rope' embraces instability as a creative method, while the record moves between noise and silence all with the good melody at its centre that is allowed to unfold and dissolve in unpredictable fashion.
After playing at London's ICA, ESNS and The Great Escape, Roomer will now go on tour with their new music in Europe in the autumn of 2036, where you can see them together with Yvonnes at the Flea on 19 November.
YVONNES
Yvonnes is a small gem from Copenhagen's thriving underground scene, the Kvintet's music exudes dusty 90s nostalgia, but still hits the contemporary spirit as part of the Copenhagen+ wave. Lead singer Nicoline Hasselbach's alluring vocals are added to mesmerizing melodies belted into exploratory guitar in a sensitive and irresistible alt-pop soundbill.
Their debut single, “Japanese Knife”, has been played extensively on both P3 and P& and has received mentions in both Politiken and Soundvenue, and Yvonnes has played support for some of Copenhagen's most prominent acts such as Snuggle and Elias Rønnenfeldt.
With their latest single, “Out of Season”, the band moves even further into a borderland between dreampop, minimalism and classic indie rock.In October, Yvonnes' debut EP 'Postponements' is released by the Copenhagen-based label Nini, the little sister of Eshoo. Look forward to Yvonnes taking the stage with a cinematic backdrop, post-punk guitars and intimate vocals on November 19th!
