A mysterious soldier appears in a 17th-century Protestant village who quickly gains the trust of the locals. Nobody knows that under the male identity hides a woman who thus fights for freedom and the right to live on her own terms.

At the beginning of the 17th century, during the Thirty Years' War, a mysterious soldier arrives in an isolated Protestant village. He presents himself as the heir to a long-abandoned manor, but his appearance from the beginning arouses the distrust of the inhabitants. Over time, thanks to hard work, piety and commitment to the life of the village, he wins their respect and gradually becomes part of a closed community.

No one knows that behind a man's outfit and the identity of a soldier is a woman. In a world where her gender would predetermine her place, responsibilities, and future, she chooses to live as a man in order to gain something she couldn't have as a woman — independence and the ability to decide her own destiny. Each day, however, means the need to guard a secret, the disclosure of which could destroy everything she has managed to build.
