Different differences of different. Cycle of events around the Katarzyna Kobro Award 2026

“Different Differences of Different” is a series of events in Łódź centered around the Katarzyna Kobro Award — an initiative within which the artistic community rewards the most outstanding artists. The series brings together Łódź institutions, initiatives and spaces that — feeling ideologically connected to the Katarzyna Kobro Award — decided to celebrate another year of its existence. “Different differences of different” is an idea that unites not on the basis of similarities, but through openness to the diversity of attitudes of artists.

18:00 - Opening of the exhibition: Natalia LL “Portrait Trial”, Galeria Olimpus, 24 Tadeusz Kościuszki ave.

The exhibition will present key and most recognizable works of the artist, as well as lesser-known documentary photographs, ephemeral prints and archives, constituting a diverse record of neo-avant-garde artistic practice.

20:00 — Performance: Zuzanna Szor, Hammer Ambiento “Nxjzksmnsnhx”, WY Gallery, East 54

A performative audiovisual action in which live music interacts with the plastic projection of a graphoscope.

17:00 - Opening of the exhibition: Joanna Rajkowska “Revolution of 1905”, Hilary Majewski's tenement house, 11 Wlókiennicza Street

The exhibition will present a photographic series in which the artist combines frames documenting revolutionary clashes with the contemporary landscape of Łódź. For Rajkowska, the archival photographs are the starting point for a story about the still current brutality of political conflicts.

20:00 - Performance: Ola Kozioł “The whole thing did not fit in”, Galeria Wostnia, 29 East Street

The activity will address the theme of recognition and development of Katarzyna Kobro's artistic achievements, focusing on the inequalities between the essence of her work and the opportunities provided by the available space and time.
