We invite you to a free and experimental live printing workshop, during which participants will learn about screen printing as a tool for creative fun, composing and searching for their own visual language.

About the event

We invite you to a free and experimental live printing workshop, during which participants will learn about screen printing as a tool for creative fun, composing and searching for their own visual language.

For the purposes of the classes, 4-5 stencils will be prepared - two or three with original graphics and others with a more neutral character: color spots, stripes, patterns and simple forms. Participants in the workshop will be able to freely combine individual motifs, superimpose them on each other and create their own, unique compositions from them. Each matrix will become part of a larger visual puzzle, and the process itself will resemble a kind of “visual DJing” — mixing images, colors and structures in real time.

During the workshop we will tell you about the sieve, the technique of screen printing and its history, and then we will move on to practical action. The work will take place without exposing the matrices, which will allow you to focus on spontaneous experimentation and direct creation. At the same time, the solutions used will leave the participants space for their own creation and individual composition of the image.

Children are waiting for two hours of focused, creative manual work, away from smartphones and social media.

Participants will take home unique, self-designed and mirrored works, which gives great satisfaction.

This is an opportunity to try real graphic technique in a relaxed atmosphere, develop imagination and spend time in an interesting way with peers.

The classes are inspired by the exhibition of illustrations about hygiene by Esther Młowka, who in a light, humorous and imaginative form encourages the youngest to look at the daily rituals related to the care of cleanliness and well-being.

Estera Młowka — visual artist, suspended between Krakow and Warsaw. She had always been hiding in some workshop — once a car workshop, where her cousins chiseled in machines, later in a graphic shop, where she chiseled herself in paints, emulsions and papers. A graduate of graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, currently professionally associated with her alma mater. Artistically, he tries to tell about important matters with a touch of humor and lightness. He experiments with form and format, orbiting around the traditional printing technique — serigraphy.
