Danced Families: Contact with the Child//movement workshop

We invite you to a meeting during which we will find time and space for mutual understanding between children and adults.

Before us is an hour of joint movement, based on spontaneous play and improvisation. We will jump, roll and fall. There is a lot of freedom during the classes, and everyone engages in the exercises depending on their own readiness.

Through improvisation, we discover the world intuitively: through physical contact, movement and touch. We develop creative inventiveness, imagination, willingness to experiment, share our own emotions. We do not limit ourselves to repetition and imitation, but we learn to co-create. Through fun and simple tasks, we discover different ways to create the space around us.

During the meeting, we develop a new form of communication - through body work and physical contact. Children improve their motor skills, motor skills and self-confidence. Parents discover trust in their children and in themselves. Together we build and deepen family ties.

Contact with a child is not only an opportunity for motor development, but also fun, spontaneity and dialogue through movement.

Magdalena Lechowicz - since the birth of her daughter, she is interested in the natural and free motor development of man and non-verbal communication.

In working with children, he uses contact techniques of improvisation, improvisation, the method of developing and free movement. She draws inspiration from movement games, involving an adult and a child in a common practice of contact and communication on the basis of partnership and mutual listening through the body.

The founder of the project “Contact with the child”, together with her daughter she conducts movement workshops encouraging children and adults to play together through movement and dance. Coordinator of projects for children at the PERFORM Artistic Foundation. Teacher of the 11th and 13th edition of the Warsaw Flow Contact Improvisation Festival — Laboratory of Contact Improvisation for children and adults — “Creating with the body, shaping with movement”.

The operator of the project is the Performat Foundation. The substantive supervisor of the program is Hanna Bylka-Kanecka.

In 2026, Danced Families will be held in parallel in Poznań, Gdańsk, Krakow and Warsaw.
