On 10 and 11 October, we invite you to the CSW Laboratory for an open, two-day symposium inaugurating this year's edition of the long-term research project Ruchome. Choreographic Research Laboratory.
During the meeting, the most important assumptions of the program will be told by its creators — Aleksandra Borys and Angelika Mizińska from the Ruchome Foundation, as well as the director of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art.
The main part of the event will be the original artistic presentations of the participants of the 2026/2027 season: Dana Chmielewska, Kasia Kani, Katarzyna Sikora, Maria Stokłosa, Marta Ziółek and Katarzyna Żeglicka. The artists will present their choreographic perspectives and starting points for the research that they will develop as part of the project. The meetings will be led by choreographer and dancer Alicja Czyczel.
The programme is based on a horizontal exchange of knowledge and experience and develops the themes developed within the framework of last year's edition Ruchome. Laboratory of Choreographic Research and School of Artistic Methods.
About the project
Movable. The Choreographic Research Laboratory is a long-term research program developed by the Ruchome Foundation and implemented in cooperation with the Ujazdowski Castle Center for Contemporary Art thanks to the co-financing of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The initiative aims to support advanced choreographic research and artistic practices based on complex creative processes. We build a research environment based on joint activities, procedural work and the development of artistic research methodologies.
The first season of Movable will run from October 2026 to May 2027. The project emphasizes the autonomy of choreography as a field of art. Its task is to conduct choreographic research, to produce knowledge through joint action and to develop mutual relations between theory and practice.
The project was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund — a state special purpose fund, as part of the “Dance” program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
