Ryan Beatty

Ryan Beatty's third studio album “Calico” from spring 2023 has garnered widespread acclaim - including from Soundvenue, who compared the album to Frank Ocean's “Blonde”.

The starting point is organic singer/songwriter with distinct melodic R&B features, arranged in both airy and intimate tracks, with strings supporting unobtrusively and the compositions taking unexpected turns.
As a teenager, he was predicted a stellar future, and the Los Angeles-based musician struck in earnest in 2017 when he starred on hip-hop collective Brockhampton's albums “Saturation II” and “Saturation III.” After this, he was signed to star producer Benny Blanco's label, debuted in 2018 with “Boys in Jeans” and then collaborated with Tyler, The Creator and Kevin Abstract from Brockhampton before releasing his second record “Dreaming of David” in 2020.

In 2023 came “Calico”, whose string arrangements Beatty has produced together with Ethan Gruska, who has worked with Phoebe Bridgers, among others. In addition to Soundvenue's praise, the album was also praised by DIY Mag and The Guardian, who wrote that it already feels like a classic.

After a much needed break, Ryan Beatty is now on his way back. While we wait for new music, we can be glad that he is visiting Studio 2 in DR Koncerthuset.
