The workshop will be a development of the path dedicated to the relationship between utility object — everyday life and personal stories. They will begin with a tour of the exhibition Polski diseño Biografia objoto/Biografia de la diseño. Classes will focus on building narratives around personal objects, everyday objects, souvenirs or small artifacts. It is these things, often inconspicuous, that will become the starting point for discovering the stories, meanings and emotions that they hide in themselves. During the meeting, participants will learn about different media and methods of creating engaging stories. The meeting will be an opportunity for individual and group exchange, to listen, to tell stories and to discover together the potential of the things that accompany us in life.
About the event
The aim of the workshop will be not only to develop narrative skills, but also to strengthen self-confidence and find pleasure and meaning in writing, for example, diaries, memoirs, writing down everyday life. In the main part, the objects will successively become objects of description, starting points for stories about everyday activities and reservoirs of memories, allowing to extract and record personal stories. The work will be based on writing exercises, reading the resulting texts and constructive feedback, with a special focus on the strengths of the participants and strengthening their sense of competence and creative agency.
The workshop will be divided into three stages:
guided tour of the exhibition Polish design Biography of the object/Biography of the designer,
workshop part based on working with personal items,
joint summary and exchange of stories and experiences.
We ask each participant to bring their own everyday item, souvenir or small artifact — these items will become the starting point for the workshop.
