RATIONALE: About Time and Memory. Author interview with Søren Ulrik Thomsen

About time and remembrance — author interview with Søren Ulrik Thomsen

How is the past present in the present, and the present in the past one recalls? Can you choose among your own children? On the occasion of his 70th birthday and the publication “Selected Poems”, poet Søren Ulrik Thomsen was asked to re-read his own writing and choose the poems that stand the test of time.

Meet Søren Ulrik Thomsen for a conversation about the relationship between past, present and future, about time and memory, and about life as a poet and life as a poem.

Søren Ulrik Thomsen made his debut in 1981 with City Slang and has since published numerous award-winning poetry collections and prose texts. Most recently, Store Kongensgade 23 (2021) and Selected Poems (2026) have been published.

The conversation will be moderated by editor Janus Lauritsen, and there will be plenty of time for questions from the audience.
