The 118th edition of the Poetry Salon will take place as part of the 6th Festival of Integral Ecology. Roman Brandstaetter's poetry will be read by Andrzej Lajborek, an actor of the New Theatre in Poznań. There will also be a unique musical setting, as the songs will be sung by Dominika Dobrosielska, accompanied by Julian Kokociński, pianist of the orchestra of the Musical Theater in Poznań.
Andrzej Lajborek is a graduate of the State Theatre School in Kraków. In 1971 he made his debut in Mikołaj Gogol's Revizor directed by Jitka Stokalska at the Polish Theatre in Szczecin. He also created many roles at the Contemporary Theatre in Szczecin, and his first performance on this stage was Stanisław Wyspiański's Return of the Odyssey directed by Wojciech Jesionka. Since 1975 he has been an actor of the New Theatre in Poznań, where he first appeared in the play School of the Jester directed by Conrad Drzewiecki. Over the years he has appeared in such titles as: The Chioggi Affair, Letnica and the Red Rooster flies straight to heaven (all directed by J. Nyczak), The Bath, The Inspector and the Enemy of the People (all directed by I. Cywińska), Balladyna, Panopticum a`la Madame Tussaud, End of Europe, Prayer of the Sick Before Night, Opera Goat, Faust and Lobotomobil (all directed by J. Wiśniewski), Defendant: June Fifty-six (directed by I. Cywińska and J. Michałowski), Ghetto and Czerwone Noses (both directed by E. Korin), Flight over the Cuckoo's Nest (directed by D. Hamilton), I served the English king ( directed by P. Cieślak) or Twelve Angry People (directed by R. Rychcik). Currently he can be seen in plays: Koriolan (directed by S. Chński), Flight over the cuckoo's nest (directed by M. Kleczewska), Czerwone Nosy (directed by J. Klata), Pan Tadeusz (directed by M. Grabowski) and In my borszczu floats a koldun (directed by K. Bijat). Andrzej Lajborek also specializes in recitals. The latest titled In Love Are Among Us, with songs from the 60s, premiered on the Third Stage of the New Theater in January 2026. On the big screen, he starred in The Third Part of the Night directed by Andrzej Żuławski. In 1979 he received the Biały Bez award for the most popular Poznan stage artist, in 2013 the Medal of Merit to Culture “Gloria Artis”, and in 2021, during the ceremony honoring the Meritorious Wielkopolans, he was included in the list of awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polish Restitution awarded for outstanding merits to Polish culture.
Dominika Dobrosielska is the winner of the program “Chance for success. Opole 2024” and finalist of the 61st National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, where she performed in the prestigious concert Debut with the Adam Sztaba Orchestra. She is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Poznań, an actress of the Mozaika theater, a co-creator of the literary cabaret “Klub Szyderców Bis”, as well as a laureate of many national festivals.
The Poetry Salon with the participation of Andrzej Lajbork and Dominika Dobrosielska will take place on 10 October at 11:45am in the Music Theatre in Poznań and at 5:00pm in the Library in the Castle in Kórnik.
The Krakow Poetry Salons at the Poznan Music Theatre are organized in cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz Literary Society in Poznań. The substantive supervision of the Salon is provided by the Vice President of the Department, Prof. Wiesław Ratajczak from the University of Warsaw University of Applied Sciences in Poznań.
The Adam Mickiewicz Literary Society was founded in 1886 in Lviv. Its task was to collect, document and disseminate materials concerning the life and work of Adam Mickiewicz. Today it is one of the oldest scientific societies in Poland. It brings together literary researchers, Polish teachers, librarians, writers and lovers of literature, ensuring the integration of the Polish language environment. It organizes scientific readings and historical-literary conferences, publishes the “Yearbook of the Adam Mickiewicz Literary Society”.
